Brainstreams.ca

Through years of hosting Canada's foremost conference on brain injury, the Pacific Coast Brain Injury Conference Society saw the need for a dedicated source for information and educational resources in Canada. This materialized in the form of Brainstreams.ca, a website that provides centralized resources for professionals working with the brain injured, as well as survivors of brain injury and their families.

The site focuses on promoting resources for the brain-injury community throughout B.C., but much of the information is useful far beyond the provincial boundaries. The support is there around the clock to help provide answers about living with brain injuries as well as a place to connect with others who are going through similar experiences.

In British Columbia alone between 21 and 38 individuals sustain brain injury each day; additionally, for each person who is injured, there are a number of other people who are affected and involved: family, spouses, friends, employers, medical and other professionals, and direct service providers. Today, an estimated 10,000 persons are living with an acquired brain injury in B.C.
